Self- Confidence

Model: Sammie D
Societal norms  put a lot of pressure on us; the consumers of media, on what is right and what is wrong. Whether directly or indirectly its always wise to ask questions and think critically about what you consume. Media often sway our decisions, from what to wear, what to eat, what is proper and what is acceptable.

On that note, I had the pleasure of interviewing fellow class mate and plus size model Samantha "Sammie D" Davis and how she overcome the pressure the media idea of the "perfect body" and how she found her confidence through modeling.

My two cents: I believe once you find your confidence, the way you approach life will be different. Self confidence can not be bought or taught, you have to make a decision to do the best you possibly can. Once that decision is made nothing or no one can take it away from you. We all had times in our life where our confidence was tested, but it's all about staying strong. So find something that encourage your self confidence like; dance, poetry, music, sports or modeling.

Rock that Confidence until next time.
